2008 Presidential Election Big Events

There's a lot of buzz swimming around about just who will be representing the two major parties in the 2008 presidental election. There will actually be a number of candidates featured on the 2008 ballot, but everyone knows there's generally two games in two; the Democrats and the Republicans. Most presidental hopefuls don't throw their hat into the ring until late into the year preceding the election year, which would be 2007, and it is at the party's national convention that the official party representing candidate will be announced.

Although the election is still a year and a half away, buzz is already in full swing. And there's plenty of events coming up that will keep the impending election right in the forefront.

The Democratic National Convention: Everything's still up in the air about the first big election event on the road toward the White House. The convention, which will run from August 25-August 28, 2008, doesn't even have a home yet. Three major U.S cities are in the running to host the illustrious Democratic event; Denver, Colorado, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota and America's own big apple, New York, New York.

The Republican National Convention: The Republicans will be enjoying a late summer convention for the 2008 election. The event will be held between Monday September 1-Thursday September 4, 2008. Details are still sketchy in regards to just who might be delivering the always stirring speeches, but ironically, the two political party rivals are eyeing two of the very same sites to play hostess. Minneapolis and New York City are both potential convention sites.
