Elections for the post of the President of United States of America, the highest office of the most powerful country in the world are to be held in November, 2008. This election is going to be the most expensive in the history of America with the cost reaching one billion dollars. Any candidate, to be taken seriously, has to raise anything near a hundred million dollars. This put the stakes even higher for the candidates.

The 2008 race for US President will be the first time in 80 years that both major parties will have open contests for the Presidential nomination without a sitting President or Vice President in the running. Candidates for the 2008 election began to emerge during 2006. The biggest issue is clearly the war in Iraq. All the l candidates have opinions about the embarassment that America has had to face in the international community after the Bush administration's blunders.

Senator Hillary Clinton may become the first woman President or Senator Barak Obama, the first African-American. As the time gets nearer the media frenzy has started.
