Sex Crimes
Sex crimes span a vast landscape of behaviors between citizens of the United States. Some of these laws are antiquated and laughable, while others are sorely needed to protect individuals and groups. Sadly, there are still some behaviors out there which do not fall under any kind of law, but upon closer examination of the damage they may do to one or more parties involved would most certainly warrant some type of legislation.
Some forms of sex crimes are obvious. For example the rape of a woman or the act of having sexual intercourse with a minor - who is not of the age of consent- are both sex crimes that are recognized across the board. Other sex crimes include indecent exposure, pedophilia, incest, and also sexual harassment.
Yet it is surprising that many liberal voices seek to overturn some of these laws or at least severely them in scope. The ACLU, for example, has been known to support the peddling of child pornography as well the National Men-Boy Love Association in their efforts to further their philosophy. Republicans have been somewhat quiet with respect to dealing decisively with such actions that seek to clearly exploit those who cannot speak for themselves, and it is high time to come out and set a new standard. Many laws dealing with sex crimes are tough and useful, and it is important that they will continue to be enforced, no matter what the current sentiment of the vociferous fringe groups in society may be.
