Medical Innovation
Today’s society is more and more dependent on advanced health care to sustain life as long as possible. In addition, many people are not only dependent on medication and medical innovation because they want to prolong their life, but to make their existing life more tolerable. However, the idea of how to make a more functional health care system and venture further into medical innovation of the future is something people in government can hardly agree upon.
From the left, officials want a medical system that is run completely by the government. This would include government limits on every thing from supply control to prescription drugs. However, this is not necessary the correct way to go about developing the best health care system in the world. Sure, it helps those who cannot afford basic health care in many ways. But, it also limits those who can afford better health care. What the people of America need is a system that is fair to everyone.
The best way to look at the future of medical innovations is to allow private sectors into the industry. Reduced government regulation in the area of medical advancement and innovation would allow competition among providers. This in turn would reduce the prices for all consumers, without reducing the quality of care.
Under strict government regulation, medical innovation is bound and tied. Consumers deserve the right to make choices about their own health and the health care they receive. Therefore, privatization is important in the medical community as well.
